Our Promise

Accessibility isn't a special request. It's built in from day one.

Meet Shannon

I won't gloss over
your needs.
I promise.

Defying Limits Travel is an accessible travel agency based in Clermont, Florida, serving clients nationwide. Shannon McEvoy is a Certified Accessible Travel Advocate specializing in wheelchair travel, Celiac travel planning, autism and neurodivergent travel, ocean cruises, European vacations, river cruises, upscale all-inclusive resorts, and guided group travel.

She works with couples and families navigating autism, ADHD, mobility disabilities, Celiac disease, food allergies, sensory sensitivities, and invisible disabilities. Every itinerary is individually designed with accessibility, comfort, and an elevated experience as the standard.

She will not recommend a destination simply because it is popular. She will not build an itinerary that exhausts you. If something is not right for your needs, she will tell you directly.

The Trip That Started It All

A story about Italy,
my dad, and why
every moment matters.

My love of travel began with my dad, who believed the world was meant to be experienced fully and took every opportunity to prove it.

When I was 18, we traveled through Italy together. Venice, Rome, Florence, Tuscany, and Verona. It was one of those trips that felt significant even while it was happening.

"He had suspected something was wrong before we left. He never said a word. He just made sure every moment counted."

Shortly after we returned, he was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. He had suspected something was wrong before we left. He never said a word. He just made sure every moment counted.

That trip changed how I see travel. It is not just about where you go. It is about how it feels, who you share it with, and whether you were truly present for it.

It is the foundation of everything I build for my clients.

Why This Is Personal

Why accessibility is
personal to me.

I don't plan this kind of travel from the outside. I live it.

I'm gluten-free for medical reasons, and I react to cross-contamination the same way many of my celiac clients do. I'm neurodivergent, so I understand needing a rhythm and a plan to feel settled somewhere new. I'm queer, which means "is this place actually safe" has never been a box I tick without thinking. And I'm a parent who has planned more trips around my own family's needs than I can count.

So when accessibility comes first in everything I build, it isn't a strategy I adopted. It's how I've always had to travel. When I tell you a place works, it's because I asked the questions I'd ask for my own family, and my own table.

How I Work

The commitments I make
to every client.

01

Radical Honesty

If a destination, property, or itinerary is not right for your specific needs, I will tell you. I do not sell what does not serve you.

02

Every Detail Verified

I personally contact vendors, hotels, and operators before your trip is ever booked. You receive confirmation, not assumptions.

03

Dignity as a Standard

Accessibility is never an afterthought in my planning. It is the foundation every itinerary is built on, from the first conversation.

04

Truly Personalized

No two clients receive the same itinerary. Your trip is designed around your life, your needs, and your definition of a perfect vacation.

05

Always Available

I remain available throughout your journey for questions, changes, and anything that arises. You are never navigating it alone.

06

Joy is Non-Negotiable

Accessible travel does not mean settling. You deserve a trip that is beautiful, elevated, and genuinely enjoyable from start to finish.
